Environmental Approvals Renewal Professional

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in Brisbane as a Environmental Approvals Specialist/Environmental Planning Consultant. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in supporting decarbonization efforts and helping drive forward the development of large scale renewable energy projects.
The successful candidate will lead and/or support a wide variety of environmental approvals for the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, covering Commonwealth, State and local jurisdictions as applicable.
This role involves collaborating with other practitioners to execute projects, participating on teams composed of multi-disciplinary professionals from multiple offices around the global organization.
The ideal candidate will develop skills including technical expertise, project experience, and general consulting and decision-making skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in environmental planning or science, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant infrastructure and/or energy industry experience including environmental approvals/permitting and/or management, consulting industry experience highly desirable.
- Experience with and understanding of the environmental/planning approvals process applicable to QLD projects, therefore a working knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Vegetation Management Act 1999, Nature Conservation Act 1992 and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and the affiliated relevant regulator guidance.
- Experience in managing approvals for infrastructure projects, with experience in the renewables sector desirable.
- Strong knowledge of project management and experience working as part of an integrated team.
- Critical thinking skills – i.e. able to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful outcomes.
- Excellent report writing, data collation and management/presentation skills.
In this role, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions that meet their expectations.
