About the Role

Barnardos Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead our Kinship Care Program in Bruce, ACT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of services delivered by our team members, providing support and mentoring to staff, and managing program budgets effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality of services delivered by team members, with a strong focus on client-centred, effective case planning and management.
  • Provide support, mentoring and coaching to all members of the team.
  • Manage program budgets effectively and provide management reports as required.
  • Ensure all team members receive regular required supervision.
  • Promote a clear understanding of the standards and values guiding Barnardos Australia's operations.
  • Lead regular team meetings.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with relevant tertiary degree-level qualifications in the provision of protective support and service delivery to children and young people and their families. You will have demonstrated capacity to provide advice on complex case management matters/issues and to coach others who also provide such advice.

You will have considerable knowledge of social, economic, health and cultural factors affecting client and family situations, as well as working knowledge of relevant child protection and related legislation.

We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience of and capacity to provide leadership, direction, supervision and support to staff who are providing complex case management for children and young people who are in foster or kin care.

You will have demonstrated understanding of the special needs of children in disadvantaged families through past experience of working in a Case Manager or similar role.

We are also looking for a candidate with experience in managing staff performance, taking into consideration competency, duty of care, organisational values, or policy standard.

You will have exceptional written communication skills, ability to prepare reports, funding submissions and correspondence to a high standard for a range of audiences.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary package, including base salary, leave loading, and superannuation. We also offer salary packaging to receive up to $15,860 of your salary tax-free, as well as motor vehicle packaging on selected roles.

We require all staff to have a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number), as well as a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card, and CYPS Check for the ACT.

Vaccination for COVID-19 is a condition of employment and engagement with Barnardos.
