About the Role

BaptistCare is seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Consultant to join our team. As a Palliative Care Consultant, you will provide expert leadership, guidance, and strategy for palliative care across all BaptistCare residential homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Expert Palliative Care Guidance: Offer expert palliative care guidance and support to the Senior Leadership Team and Residential Homes.
  • Develop and Comply with Palliative Care Policies: Oversee the development and compliance of palliative care policies and systems.
  • Lead Clinical Education Initiatives: Lead clinical education initiatives for staff and provide resources to residents and families.
  • Perform Clinical Audits: Perform clinical audits and support homes during Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission visits.
  • Participate in Palliative Care Research: Actively participate in palliative care research and grants to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in nursing, with postgraduate studies in Palliative Care.
  • Experience in Aged Care: At least 5 years of experience in aged care, including operational roles in residential aged care facilities.
  • Leadership and Coaching Skills: Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, with a focus on building palliative care expertise.
  • Understanding of Aged Care Regulations: Sound understanding of aged care regulations and compliance standards.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel across NSW and ACT to support BaptistCare homes.
