About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at the Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) at the Townsville University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assessment, treatment, and care services in a low dependency unit and high dependency unit
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure patient safety and well-being
  • Provide education and training to staff members on mental health topics

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in mental health
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
