The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Safety Advisor. As a key member of our project team, you will monitor and support the safety function under general supervision to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures.

You will implement safety programs for project employees, assist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes, conduct safety inspections and monitoring work areas, establish positive working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management team.
  2. Implement safety programs for project employees.
  3. Assist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes.
  4. Conduct incident and accident investigations.
  5. Conduct safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
  6. Establish positive working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risks.
  7. Assist in the development of communications tools and records for all project safety meetings.
  8. Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of project safety programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  1. A Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
  2. Construction safety management experience (3+ years).
  3. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls.
  4. Experience monitoring, reviewing and performing compliance inspections.
  5. Skills in safety management techniques and tools.
