Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Health Specialist

This role is a critical part of our Clinic Team, where you will work in partnership with the Midwife to ensure children progress into the child development program. The main objective is to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, focusing on women and children aged 0-5 years.
The Child Health Nurse plays a crucial role in providing education and support to children and their families. This includes providing high-level clinical monitoring, identifying developmental delays, and referring to appropriate services. You will also administer childhood immunizations, integrate childhood maternal and child health, and family support services, and implement plans to address community priorities in children's health and development.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide education and support to children and their families

- Provide leadership and mentorship within the team
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and data management
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Work collaboratively with the Midwife and Paediatric Nurse
You will be working within a well-respected Community Controlled Organisation that delivers holistic, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate health and disability care to communities in the Pilbara. Services are provided through physical locations, mobile outreach, and online/telehealth modes, supported by administration, management, software, and infrastructure.
