Remuneration: $34.44 - $44.55 per hour plus superannuation

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Casual Clinical Coder to join our high-quality performing team. The successful candidate will provide casual clinical coding services to the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately translate inpatient episodes of care into code, using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Twelfth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and the Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI).
  • Meet Activity Based Funding (ABF) targets, SESLHD/NSW Health Service reporting timeframes and research requirements.
  • Work effectively in an unsupervised environment and within a team with excellent interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

Successful completion of recognised courses in clinical coding (ICD-10-AM) and medical terminology.Demonstrated experience and competence in clinical classification using ICD-10-AM and high level proven knowledge of Australian Coding Standards.Practical knowledge and experience in current disease classification in a tertiary teaching hospital.Demonstrated understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) as per Activity Based Funding (ABF) principles and application within the health system.
