Net Maintenance Job Description

As a Net Maintenance professional, your primary focus will be to collaborate with the Nets Manager and Assistant Manager Nets in performing routine repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of fish and bird nets.

  • Roping and Stitching: You will be responsible for accurately roping and stitching nets according to established standard operating procedures.
  • Splicing Tasks: Assist with splicing tasks as needed to ensure the integrity and longevity of the nets.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge, enabling you to perform your duties more effectively.
  • Predator Monitoring: Monitor and report any predator activity, such as seals and birds, in the nets to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adhering to Protocols: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and biosecurity protocols to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Site Maintenance: Maintain the site in an organized and well-kept state, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments to stay informed about Work Health and Safety regulations and take necessary actions to mitigate potential hazards.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in a similar position within the aquaculture or marine farming industry is highly desirable, although not essential. A valid driver's license or reliable mode of transport is also required.

Key Attributes: To excel in this role, you should possess the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time with attention to detail. A collaborative team player who can follow company policies and procedures is also essential.
