About the Role

Pantoro Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mining Engineer to join our team at the Norseman Gold Operation. As a key member of our underground operations team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and directing the various engineering aspects of our underground mining operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize Underground Mining Operations: Develop and implement effective drill/blast designs to minimize dilution and maximize gold recovery.
  • Short-Term Mining Scheduling: Prepare accurate short-term mining schedules to meet mine targets and ensure efficient production.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with the Senior Mine Engineer to prioritize mine planning and scheduling, and assist with productivity rates for longer-term schedules.
  • Production Coordination: Coordinate and manage daily mine production activities to achieve targets and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Reconciliation and Analysis: Conduct daily reconciliation and variance analysis against designs and schedules to identify areas for improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and investigate production bottlenecks and implement methods to eliminate or mitigate them.
  • Team Collaboration: Liaise with Mine Surveyors, Geologists, and Contractor Supervision team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety Act and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022, and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the training and development of graduate mining engineers as required.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and production.
  • Prior experience with gold mining and/or narrow vein operations.
  • Competent use of Datamine, VentSim software or similar.
  • A National Police Clearance.
