About the Role

Our organization is seeking an afternoon shift Maintenance Supervisor - Mechanical for our maintenance team based at our facility in Cannon Hill.

This role reports to the engineering manager and supervises a team of mechanical and electrical tradespeople on a daily basis.

  • Set and deliver planned maintenance schedules
  • Breakdown management
  • Reliability improvement initiatives
  • Driving a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring a productive and positive team spirit including a high level of morale and participation
  • Ensuring safe work practices and standard operational procedures are followed at all times

The nature of this role demands a self-motivated, decisive person with a "can do" attitude with the ability to work with and lead a team to produce results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong people management skills along with organizational and communication skills
  • Experience and a desire to learn problem-solving, maintenance trouble-shooting and continuous improvement principles
  • Trade qualifications (mechanical or electrical trade certificate)
  • Experience working within a CMMS system
  • Proven leadership and communication skills to lead a skilled team
  • Demonstrable fault finding and root cause analysis skills
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety by working in a safe manner at all times
  • Ability to lead and mentor your team to consistently meet targets

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical trade
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in maintenance supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • High level of organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
