The Opportunity:

Visy Glass possesses extensive expertise in producing pure, sustainable, and distinctive glass packaging for renowned food and beverage brands worldwide. An opening exists at the Visy Glass – West Croydon Plant for the position of Trade Fitter & Turner. The ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical Trade certificate and will be an essential member of our reliability team, contributing to the operations of a 24/7 facility, primarily during day shifts.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Plant Reliability Lead, the key responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Making data-driven decisions
  • Providing general technical assistance to the manufacturing site
  • Overseeing the installation of both new and existing machinery
  • Performing daily maintenance, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and equipment repair
  • Managing maintenance notifications within SAP
  • Competitive remuneration at $45.58 per hour

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • A Mechanical Trade certificate, with additional qualifications in hydraulics and pneumatics being advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in an industrial setting, ideally within manufacturing, with a strong background in fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines, alongside demonstrating excellent teamwork capabilities.
  • Competence in managing multiple tasks with varying priorities to minimize operational downtime.
  • A positive attitude, robust work ethic, and a commitment to safety.
