About the Role
We are seeking experienced Underground MCU Operators for a role based at Cannington Mine in Queensland. The successful candidate will operate on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and it is expected that candidates will come from Townsville, Mt Isa or Brisbane.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate MCU vehicles (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and other associated blasting plant and machinery;
- Provide operational blasting knowledge and advice to our client's blast crews and associated stakeholders;
- Assist with preventative maintenance on all associated plant and machinery;
- Assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products into blast holes on bench;
- Work in tight unison with your teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers; and
- Demonstrate and set the example of our key company value:'Safety is our Priority, Always'.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience working as an underground charge up operator is essential;
- Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license or the ability to obtain one within 4 weeks;
- Experience with electronic blasting systems would be an advantage;
- Strong customer orientation;
- A commitment and attitude toward Safety, Health and Environment;
- A current Queensland Explosives Security Clearance or ability to obtain one;
- The ability to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical.
