Pending your successful appointment, you will be assigned to one of our three work locations: Campbellfield, Truganina & Tarneit. We are looking for a skilled Motor Mechanic to fulfill various roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicle engines and components.
  • Test and adjust mechanical components after repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Initiate and complete routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to enhance vehicle efficiency and adhere to emission standards.
  • Inspect vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or outline necessary repairs for compliance.
  • Disassemble and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other parts, then thoroughly inspect each component.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged parts, reassemble mechanical components, and consult service manuals as required.
  • Reassemble engines and components after repairs.
  • Utilize computers to assist in diagnosing and testing vehicle components.
  • Respond promptly to vehicle breakdown calls for on-site service.

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • Proficiency in handling hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and computerized testing devices.
  • Familiarity with fluid-powered brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Understanding of how engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other vehicle components function.
  • Able to accurately identify mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.
  • Current VIC Driver's License.
  • Certificate III in Automotive or higher.
  • At least one year of experience as a mechanic/technician in an automotive workshop.

  • A salary range of $74,000 - $80,000 + superannuation.
