Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in mining, industrial, and mineral processing projects. Our client is currently executing several key projects and is seeking an experienced engineer to join the electrical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in large multi-discipline EPCM projects as a key member of the electrical team.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and designers to foster a culture of collaboration and co-operation with other disciplines.
  • Develop and review estimates, schedules, progress reports, labour forecasts, and other project-related documents.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of project drawings and documentation, including scope of work, datasheets, and other project baseline documents.
  • Interpret and apply client, national, and international standards to design documentation.
  • Engage with and manage vendors and sub-contractor interfaces.
  • Verify project deliverables produced by other disciplines to contribute technical expertise.
  • Support client-driven activities such as workshops and internal toll-gating.
  • Manage project scope variation, schedule impacts, and report on progress and outlook.
  • Review and check calculations, equipment specifications, and vendor offers/submissions.
  • Understand and apply the organization's operating system requirements, engineering practices, and job bulletins.
  • Continually improve engineering processes and designs.
  • Liaise with site construction and commissioning teams to address queries.
Requirements
  • A completed tertiary engineering degree recognized by Engineers Australia.
  • Relevant industry experience with eligibility for MIEAust membership.
  • EEHA qualifications and design experience are essential.
  • In-depth understanding of Functional Safety practices and solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to build strong relationships with management, team members, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of project life-cycle requirements to provide robust guidance and solutions.
  • Experience in software design tools such as Smart Plant, Digsilent PowerFactory, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, CDEGS, etc. is desirable.
