About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our Business Banking Risk Management team at the Commonwealth Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist risk services and advice to our Business Banking team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide all aspects of credit services, including advisory, credit decisioning, and recommendation of agriculture and commercial applications beyond delegated authority for regional and agribusiness clients.
  • Monitor and review credit portfolios to ensure they are appropriately managed and controlled.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including Business Banking managers and bankers.
  • Contribute to the development of risk management frameworks and policies to ensure they are effective and aligned with the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with other risk teams to ensure a consistent and effective risk management approach across the Bank.
Requirements
  • Experience in a credit risk position, including exercising a personal delegation in a major financial institution.
  • High level diversified industry knowledge and experience in Agribusiness and Commercial risk management.
  • Nurtured and maintained key internal stakeholder relationships, and client relationship management experience.
  • Ability to think outside the box and adapt quickly to new situations.
  • Ability to provide sound, consistent credit risk decisions.
  • Ongoing awareness of ESG issues and the impact on credit risk.
  • Ongoing awareness of relevant industry issues, which might impact on external and internal credit environments affecting credit quality and recommend appropriate changes to system and/or policies.
