Senior Regulatory Officer Role

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Regulatory Officer. The role will involve supporting the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority in consistently and fairly applying relevant early childhood education and care (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a regulator or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of regulating the ECEC sector. They will also possess strong decision-making skills, the ability to manage risk, and prioritise work efficiently. Additionally, they will be able to work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Support: Provide consistent and fair application of ECEC legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector.
  • Collaboration: Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regional offices, ECEC providers and services.
  • Project Management: Prioritise and complete projects and tasks efficiently, while managing risk and making informed decisions.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a regulator or in a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Education: A degree in a relevant field, such as law, education or social sciences.
