Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Housing/Shelter Support Worker to join our team at Our Place Society. In this full-time position, you will work closely with residents in our shelter programs, providing individualized support and assistance to help them achieve their goals.

About the Role

As a Housing/Shelter Support Worker, you will be responsible for conducting initial assessments of residents, developing individual support plans, and providing ongoing support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being. You will also assist with daily operations, including meal distribution, laundry services, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments of residents and develop individual support plans in collaboration with the Team Lead/Site Supervisor and support team.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to residents to help them overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being.
  • Assist with daily operations, including meal distribution, laundry services, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require a diploma in a related human/social service field and a minimum of one year of recent experience in a similar position. You should also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additionally, you must be able to navigate stairs and lift up to 30 pounds, as well as kneel down to attend to medical emergencies.

Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate ranging from $27.54 to $31.61, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental coverage after completion of the probationary period.
