Electrical Trade Planning Specialist Role

About the Job

This role involves developing detailed work orders for electrical maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient execution by trade personnel on board Collins Class Submarines and within workshop environments.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and determining correct maintenance standards and drawings to develop consistent work packs, generating work orders and work scope in an efficient manner, ensuring work can be carried out safely and reliably by relevant personnel, liaising with stakeholders to prioritise and revise work plans as needed, and interpreting complex engineering specifications, documentation, recommendations and work instructions to support planning activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have a strong background in electrical maintenance and/or engineering, with at least 7 years post-trade experience and a solid understanding of electrical maintenance principles. A recognised electrical trade qualification or engineering technician background is essential, along with demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance within shipbuilding, submarine, or heavy engineering environments. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also required, as well as the ability to interpret complex technical documentation and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • A recognised electrical trade qualification or engineering technician background.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance within shipbuilding, submarine, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documentation.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with IFS ERP (desirable).
