We are seeking a skilled Retail Applications Analyst to join our IT Project Team. This newly established position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a solid background in business analysis specifically within the retail domain.

In this role, reporting to the Head of Projects, you will engage in various dynamic projects, focusing on requirements analysis, documentation of business needs, process optimization, and proposed solutions. Your responsibilities will also include supporting User Acceptance Testing and developing comprehensive End User Documentation. Effective communication with stakeholders, coordination of meetings, and provision of essential documentation will be crucial as you facilitate the transition to support teams. You will also manage initiatives to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering

  • Identify and compile business requirements through diverse methods such as workshops, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Conduct gap analysis to compare current operations with future objectives.
  • Develop business cases, user stories, and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate the sign-off process for business and technical requirements with stakeholders.

Solution Acceptance and User Testing

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to establish requirements traceability and criteria for solution acceptance.
  • Provide analytical support during testing phases, including the creation of User Acceptance Testing plans.

Project Management and Delivery

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to manage project scope and priorities effectively.
  • Oversee smaller projects or initiatives as necessary.
  • Set standards for business analysis practices within the team.
  • Manage the implementation of change requests through established processes, including training as needed.
  • Complete documentation and ensure a smooth handover to Business Applications and Business Teams post-project.
  • Develop metrics to measure and monitor project success.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel as required.
  • Work autonomously while maintaining a results-oriented focus.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to all relevant parties.
  • Foster vendor relationships to ensure timely implementation of changes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Applications Business Analysis within the retail sector.
  • Familiarity with ERP and Ecommerce systems in a retail context.
  • Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of Business Analysis methodologies and tools.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Knowledge of AP21 ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
