Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team in Pinjarra, Western Australia.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions to improve environmental outcomes across our mining operations.

• About the Role:
• Designing, implementing, monitoring, analysing and writing up field trials to improve environmental performance, including defining key performance metrics for rehabilitation, understanding complex ecological interactions, and quantifying mining related impacts on vegetation.
• Engaging and communicating with scientific networks, sharing findings with stakeholders and collaborating closely with research partners to drive evidence-based environmental outcomes.
• Working closely with the Rehabilitation teams to assist in the handback and botanical monitoring programs.
• Contribute to broader research initiatives, such as rehabilitation implementation, native plant production, fauna interactions with forest and rehabilitation areas, and studies related to soil and water dynamics.

• You have a PhD or Masters by Research in Ecology or Environmental Science, or related field.
• You have extensive experience in designing, installing and monitoring large-scale field trials and vegetation surveys with minimum supervision.
• You possess strong communication skills including delivering presentations, and publishing reports and papers.
• You have an ability to analyse complex datasets using appropriate statistical methods.
• You hold a WA Drivers Licence and are able to undertake field work in all weather conditions.
