Sr. Job Title: Trade Operator/Maintainer (Mechanical)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced operator/maintainer to join our team. As a trade operator/maintainer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various on-track machines to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of rail networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing, calibration, and operation of various Plasser and Theurer On-Track Machines (OTMs)
  • Have a good understanding of general hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, and control systems
  • Be able to navigate and read simple hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Carry out regular preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, and major overhaul works to ensure maximum equipment availability
  • Perform tasks safely in accordance with company and WH&S Act requirements
  • Work effectively and efficiently on major maintenance and construction projects
  • Work independently and as part of a team in both operations and maintenance activities

Requirements:
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade background
  • Strong commitment to safety & Zero Harm
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work cohesively in a small team
  • Ability to work weekends and nights if required
  • Ability to travel/work away from home when required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment checks including CAT1 rail medical
