About the Role
As a Mental Health Therapist, you'll utilize your expertise in creative therapy to support clients in their journey towards improved mental health and emotional well-being. You'll work closely with our multi-disciplinary team, providing individual and group therapy, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with clients' families and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized creative therapy plans using modalities such as visual arts, music therapy, or nature therapy.
  • Facilitate therapeutic group sessions that inspire client change and growth.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans.
  • Collaborate with families and significant others to support client outcomes.
  • Maintain high-quality client records and ensure compliance with professional and legislative standards.
  • Participate in case review meetings, individual supervision, and team meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in counselling or mental health, with a specialisation in Art or Creative Therapy and registration with ANZACATA.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing client change plans in a mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and manage crisis situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals, external stakeholders, and working with diverse groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
  • Experience developing and delivering group-based therapeutic programs.
