About the Learning Design and Technology Unit
The unit consolidates expertise in digital pedagogy, learning technology ecosystems, inclusive practices, educational media, and learning experience design. As a key part of the Education Portfolio of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education and Students), it plays a vital role in shaping the university's approach to education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the process of selecting and prioritizing technologies for the learning and teaching ecosystem.
- Contribute to policy, procedure, and decision-making processes relating to educational technology issues.
- Establish effective decision-making processes around learning technologies and access points for faculties.
- Manage the education technologies team effectively.
- Collaborate with ITD and other teams to develop strategies addressing university priorities.
Selection Criteria Points:
- Team leadership abilities and relationship management/stakeholder engagement.
- Capacity to work collaboratively and persuasively within a diverse university community.
- Knowledge of learning theories and principles relevant to student learning in higher education.
- Extensive knowledge of learning management systems and related technologies.
- Understanding of information technology processes in a large and complex organization.
- Practical experience working with technologies for student learning in higher education.
