Work as a Mechanical Technician

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our Test & Commissioning team.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical and hydraulic equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting Set to Work activities, testing, commissioning, maintaining and ensuring the operation of Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) ships' systems. This includes moorings, hydraulics, anchors, escape systems, cranes, and helicopter landing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct STW, testing, commissioning and maintenance of hull and deck systems.
  • Train and qualify as an Authorised Individual to operate and maintain ships' systems.
  • Bring technical expertise to the team—share knowledge, drive best practices, and foster continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Cert III in Engineering (Mechanical) minimum or a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and verification of systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills to tackle technical challenges across functions.
