About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team, working on the Data Enablement stream within ANZx. Your mission will be to design and build dynamic data solutions to support various use cases, ensuring scalability and reliability in cloud environments.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building automated and scalable data platforms in cloud environments.
  • Developing supporting systems for data solutions – user interfaces, APIs, developer tooling, shared libraries.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for applications you develop during business hours.

What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer, you'll work in an agile framework with a team of engineers to deliver data solutions, including:

  • Developing applications that facilitate data mesh implementation, encompassing tasks such as data product registration, metadata management, and ingestion, transformation, and consumption of data products.
  • Executing cloud infrastructure automation, streamlining development processes, and enhancing data mesh implementation innovatively.
  • Building optimized data solutions with considerations for security and data governance.
  • Designing and building data pipelines and real-time data ecosystems to provide interactive customer experiences, feeding data into other systems via multiple interface types.
  • Following and contributing to data architecture standards for applications and infrastructure across the team.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Cloud-based data and software engineering experience in OOP in at least one programming language.
  • Proven success in building user interfaces and improving user experience.
  • Positive outcomes working with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps.
  • Able to work collaboratively with technical and business teams.
  • A keen interest in technology and a passion to learn.
