About the Role

The AFL Australia is seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join the Commercial & Digital team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for advising and assisting the business on financial and management accounting measures to ensure informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of monthly management reporting, including variance analysis, and annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with the business.
  • Build strong working relationships with the business, including cost centre managers and Heads of departments.
  • Act as a conduit between cost centre managers/Heads of departments and the wider finance team.
  • Liaise with cost centre managers to ensure adequate cost control and accurate reporting.
  • Provide financial leadership and accounting support to cost centre managers and Heads of departments.
  • Support the Commercial and Digital departments with ad-hoc financial modelling and analysis.
  • Contribute to and support ad hoc project working groups with project accounting, forecasting, and reporting, as required.
  • Present various financial results and analysis, as required.
  • Support and improve project reporting for the Digital department.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to upskill and educate the business on financial processes and general business acumen.
  • Support the Senior Finance Business Partner – Commercial with the management of tenders and new business proposals.
  • Challenge the status quo and champion finance and enterprise-level transformation.

Financial Accounting

  • Provide support to the financial reporting team and their processes.
  • Provide support to the annual audit process.

Requirements

  • Tertiary level Accounting qualifications and post-graduate qualifications – e.g. CPA/CA.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an Accounting role.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

Desirable

  • Prior experience or knowledge of sporting administration business.
  • Experience with cloud-based budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prior experience in using Workday Adaptive and Dynamics 365.
