We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate Primary Engineer to join our Power team in Melbourne or Sydney. As a key member of our dynamic and collaborative team, you will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects from feasibility to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects, including feasibility, concept designs, detail designs, and owner's engineer services.
- Develop and mentor junior engineers to ensure the success of our projects.
- Lead the primary design of high voltage substations and other related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports.
- Lead teams of engineers to undertake larger packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff.
- Provide concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
- Maintain current design standards as set by legislative requirements.
- Carry out quality checks and procedures to ensure the highest level of quality in our work.
- Draw upon your technical expertise and the broader team's expertise to deliver high-quality technical advice to our clients.
- Contribute to a team environment and drive delivery excellence across the Power team.
- Support strategic bids and tenders in future energy across ANZ and contribute to cross-business line activities.
- Proven technical skills in electrical engineering, with a strong understanding of power transmission, distribution, and traction power projects.
- Experience in substation primary engineering, ideally with a focus on HV/EHV substations design (up to 500kV).
- Experience in solar farm or wind farm connection substation design is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in engineering software used in design and construction.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships, with excellent communication skills.
- Results-oriented with a good technical engineering basis in transmission, distribution, or rail traction power, and experience in managing project delivery.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
