Academic Position

The College of Science and Medicine is a world-renowned institution for research and education, covering fields such as medicine, psychology, biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, and astronomy.

Within the college, the Academic Unit of General Practice (AUGP) focuses on advancing general practice and primary healthcare through innovative teaching and impactful research.

This role involves delivering teaching in general practice, clinical skills, population health, rural and Indigenous health, and evidence-based medicine as part of the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) program. You will also contribute to student assessments, including clinical skills and general practice examinations.

You will have the opportunity to develop and pursue an independent research agenda that explores the value of primary healthcare within the Australian system, engaging in collaborative research locally, nationally, and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver teaching in general practice, clinical skills, population health, rural and Indigenous health, and evidence-based medicine.
  • Contribute to student assessments, including clinical skills and general practice examinations.
  • Develop and pursue an independent research agenda exploring the value of primary healthcare.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Strong research background with a focus on primary healthcare.
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills.
