Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Weipa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, attending breakdowns, and improving works on our fixed plant assets.

You will work a 4 on, 5 off, 5 on dayshift lifestyle roster and live in the coastal town of Weipa, with full relocation provided. You will report to the Electrical Supervisor and work closely with the team to identify opportunities for improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance on air-conditioning and electrical plant and equipment across our sites
  • Performing statutory electrical checks on site-based infrastructure
  • Fault finding and maintaining air-conditioning and electrical plant and equipment during breakdown situations
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A trade qualification – Queensland Electrical Trades Licence (or equivalent) and Refrigeration Mechanic Qualification or experience
  • A manual C class drivers' license
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft word and excel
  • The ability to communicate effectively within a team environment
