The role of the Compliance Coordinator is to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations related to biosecurity. This involves investigating alleged breaches, providing advice to stakeholders, and conducting quality assurance activities.
This position requires a strong understanding of the Biosecurity Act 2014 and the ability to exercise powers as an authorized officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to compliance breaches, mentoring team members, and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate alleged breaches of legislation
- Provide accurate high-level advice to stakeholders
- Conduct quality assurance activities
- Exercise powers as an authorized officer under the Biosecurity Act 2014
- Mentor and guide team members in responding to compliance breaches
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A current unrestricted 'C' Class Driver's Licence
- Appointment as a Queensland Biosecurity Authorized Inspector or strong knowledge of the legal requirements of an authorized officer under a relevant Act or Regulation would be highly regarded.
- Experience in explaining compliance requirements to encourage voluntary compliance with biosecurity requirements.
- Excellent information, evidence gathering and analysis skills, including the ability to write up clear report/statements of fact and recommendations.
