**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse to join our dynamic team at Gladstone Hospital. As a key member of the hospital's emergency department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our multidisciplinary team.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct thorough patient assessments using a systematic approach and triage patients according to established protocols.
- Provide expert emergency care and prioritize patient needs in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to critical situations and perform resuscitation and life-saving procedures as required.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to hospital guidelines and protocols.
- Liaise closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Use critical thinking skills to recognize and respond to the needs of deteriorating patients, escalating care as necessary.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must possess:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated experience in an Emergency Department or Acute Care setting.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Proficiency in triage and resuscitation procedures.
- Exceptional clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
