Job Summary

The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disability Support Manager to lead the operational and strategic direction of Disability Support. This is a key role in ensuring the provision of comprehensive, responsive, and effective Disability Support services to all enrolled students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational management of Disability Advisors and Senior Disability and Disability Support Officer staff.
  • Oversee services for students at risk of discrimination and ensure the University meets its commitments under the Disability Standards for Education Act 2005 and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
  • Drive the strategic development and execution of the University's Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in providing successful operational management in a Human Services setting, in the areas of access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • A sound knowledge of disability legislation, including its specific relevance to education providers.
  • Demonstrated experience in service coordination and leading a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully building teams with a positive future-focused culture, driven by outstanding service outcomes through service innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the wide range and complex needs of students with disabilities within a tertiary education setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional practice expectations related to record keeping and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and administrative skills and capacity to meet competing and demanding deadlines.
  • Knowledge of disability-based community services and resources.
