Job Title: Laboratory Supervisor
About the Role
- This is a key leadership position within our organisation, responsible for overseeing laboratory operations and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a strong background in construction materials testing, possessing excellent people management skills and a passion for mentoring and developing staff.
- They will also have strong technical knowledge and experience in conducting inspections and calibration of test equipment, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- SUPERVISE laboratory operations, overseeing the testing and analysis of construction materials.
- ENSURE safe working systems and procedures are followed at all times, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- MANGE product quality, guaranteeing compliance to specifications and industry standards.
- CONDUCT regular inspections and calibration of test equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- PROVIDE technical assistance and training to laboratory technicians and field testers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- ASSIST in the development of concrete mixes and quarry products, leveraging expertise to drive innovation.
- MAINTAIN laboratory accreditation, upholding the highest standards of quality and integrity.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- EXPERIENCE in construction materials testing is advantageous but not essential, as on-the-job training will be provided.
- STRONG people management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing staff.
- NATA Signatory status, demonstrating a high level of competence in AS/TfNSW standards and NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- TERTIARY qualifications in engineering or science, or equivalent certifications (Cert IV/Diploma in Laboratory techniques).
- EXCELLENT customer service skills, with experience interacting with customers and suppliers.
- COLLABORATIVE and innovative problem-solving abilities, driving creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- PROFICIENCY in Microsoft Office, with the ability to adapt to new software and systems.
