Aboriginal Health Promotion Officer

About the Role
The ARF/RHD Program Support/Aboriginal Liaison Officer plays a vital role in delivering culturally responsive primary health care services to prevent Acute Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease among Congress clients. This position works closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement community-based strategies for early detection, adherence to treatment, improved health education, and access to care.
Responsibilities
- Providing a health promotion/liaison service between the community and Congress
- Offering advice to the ARF/RHD team on cultural and community issues important to Aboriginal people
- Supporting targeted community outreach services across regions, including town and remote locations
Requirements
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures and community needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $74,470 – $82,855 per annum
- Total effective package: $94,260 - $103,779 per annum (includes base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options)
