About the Role

The ARF/RHD Program Support/Aboriginal Liaison Officer plays a vital role in delivering culturally responsive primary health care services to prevent Acute Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease among Congress clients. This position works closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement community-based strategies for early detection, adherence to treatment, improved health education, and access to care.

Responsibilities

  • Providing a health promotion/liaison service between the community and Congress
  • Offering advice to the ARF/RHD team on cultural and community issues important to Aboriginal people
  • Supporting targeted community outreach services across regions, including town and remote locations

Requirements

  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures and community needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $74,470 – $82,855 per annum
  • Total effective package: $94,260 - $103,779 per annum (includes base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options)
