About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Perioperative Nurse to join our team at Prospero Health & Social Care. As a key member of our surgical care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients throughout their surgical journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preoperative Preparation: Prepare patients for surgery, providing comfort and support to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.
  • Assisting Surgeons: Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to strict protocols.
  • Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and anesthesia as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery, providing clear and concise information to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver top-notch patient care, communicating effectively and efficiently to ensure seamless care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, adhering to strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.
Requirements
  • Current Nursing License: Hold a current nursing license in Queensland.
  • Education and Certification: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) is advantageous.
  • Experience: Have prior perioperative nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
