Job Overview

The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical expertise in insurance risk management, with a strong focus on underwriting operations. As the retail underwriting operations team leader, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to the non-program local team members, while maintaining relationships with underwriting managers.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of underwriting assistants, working closely with underwriters and middle office management to drive business growth. You will be accountable for managing accounts, providing technical advice, and supporting motor, climate, construction, PI, title, and M&A colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate full ownership and accountability for accounts.
  2. Provide support to Motor, Climate, Construction, PI, Title, and M&A colleagues.
  3. Manage relationships & meetings with stakeholders and handle escalations on behalf of the team.
  4. Perform regular 2-way feedback sessions with the team members.
  5. Assist management with goal setting, mid-year, and annual reviews.
  6. Maintain accurate up-to-date reporting on relevant KPIs.
  7. Work closely with Shared Services teams, knowledge sharing, training, and escalating where necessary.
  8. Handle requests originating from Underwriter/Client/Broker and other internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  9. Knowledge share with the team members & ensure collaboration across all.
  10. Ensure escalations to management in a timely manner where appropriate.
  11. Produce reports and provide commentary to management.

You will report to the Head of Middle Office, UK.
