Job Role Overview

Technical Data Specialist is a high-level position that involves data requirements, analysis, and solution implementation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand the data needs of various systems, including legacy and modern solutions.
  • Analyse complex data sets to identify trends and patterns.
  • Design and implement robust data flows and solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Develop and document business rules and logic for data and reporting purposes.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including functional and technical specification documents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate data ingestion and ensure alignment with business rules.
  • Act as a mentor to junior team members and support an inclusive team culture.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in a data-focused role, preferably as a Technical BA or Data Analyst.
  • Expertise in SQL for advanced data analysis and querying.
  • Proven experience in data delivery projects, including data ingestion, ETL processes, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in data quality governance and stewardship workflows.
  • Understanding of data modelling and STTM concepts.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • High-level analytical capabilities applied to complex programs of work.
  • Experience working in agile methodologies and full software development life cycles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and analysis skills.
  • Strong background in computer science, engineering, or equivalent field.
