Job Opportunity: Laboratory Manager

We are seeking an experienced scientist to take on the acting laboratory manager role at our Campbelltown laboratory.

  • This is an opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated professional to manage the day-to-day operations of this multi-disciplinary laboratory.
  • The successful candidate will have working knowledge in Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the laboratory to provide an efficient and effective service across operational management, compliance management, financial planning and reporting, department performance monitoring and reporting, corporate risk management, human resources management and strategic planning.
  • Leading the team with proven leadership and operational management skills and experience including budget management, staff and resource management and maintenance of professional standards and accreditation within organisational funding and performance frameworks.
  • Implementing quality improvement and risk management strategies including an understanding of the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
  • Using change management and data analysis to proactively improve laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and interacting professionally with a diverse range of people at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience and working knowledge in Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion.
  • Strong leadership and operational management skills.
  • Ability to implement quality improvement and risk management strategies.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
