Job Overview

The Department of Finance is seeking a Graduate to join its team in Canberra. As a Graduate, you will be part of a supportive and challenging work environment where you will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful work and develop knowledge, skills, and experience through tailored learning and development and on-the-job coaching.

About the Role

You will be working within a cohort of graduates from various disciplines, undertaking a 12-month development program with two 6-month work placements. Placements are informed by high-priority work and where the skills and capabilities of our graduates will be best utilised and developed. Each placement will be in a different area of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the financial impacts, risks, and merits of new policy proposals across government portfolios
  • Analyse the government's financial framework
  • Manage the government's shareholding in assets
  • Delve into modernising the public sector through better services to citizens and businesses
  • Assist in whole-of-government procurement
  • Risk management
Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will also need to be adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
