The Environmental Services Assistant role is a crucial position within our healthcare facility, providing vital support to the nursing team in non-clinical patient care. Key responsibilities include assisting with patient lifting and transportation, supporting emergency response teams, collecting and delivering specimens, equipment, consumables, and restocking supplies and consumables.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking cleaning and waste duties as assigned, including general cleaning, terminal cleaning of internal and external areas, and maintaining high levels of cleanliness throughout the hospital grounds to minimize healthcare-associated infections.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, applicants must possess:

  • Previous experience in a similar position in a healthcare facility
  • Competency in reading and writing English to enable safe performance of duties to acceptable levels
  • Able to push or pull mobile waste bins, patient beds, and trolleys frequently
