We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Morobe Street Children's Centre. As an Educator, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality educational program that meets the individual needs of children aged from birth to 6 years.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all interactions with children are positive, respectful, and friendly. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement a curriculum that is responsive to each child's needs, building on their strengths, interests, and knowledge.
This is a temporary parental leave full-time position from October 2024 until October 2025. You will be based at Morobe Street Children's Centre, Oriel Road, Heidelberg West, and will work a Monday to Friday rostered shift between 6.45 am and 6.45 pm with a 1-hour unpaid break.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a high-quality educational program that meets the individual needs of children aged from birth to 6 years.
- Ensure that all interactions with children are positive, respectful, and friendly.
- Work closely with our team to develop and implement a curriculum that is responsive to each child's needs.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the centre.
- Maintain written records and write reports relating to program goals and child development.
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations, and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
- Awareness of the cultural needs of families.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to maintain written records and write reports relating to program goals and child development.
- Current, recognized First Aid and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates are essential.
