About the Role

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to support the Disney+ streaming service in Australia and New Zealand, including negotiating distribution, partnership, and promotional agreements.
  • Advise on legal matters related to commercial, intellectual property, and media law for the Disney+ platform and product changes and features.
  • Oversee the development and negotiation of key content licence agreements with free TV and subscription TV broadcasters, BVOD, VOD, and sell-through digital service providers.
  • Lead a team and act as a guide for other lawyers.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum 15+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer with expertise in IP, commercial, and media and entertainment law.
  • Proven experience in advising and/or working in the Australian or comparable international media and entertainment industry, including digital product management and related marketing, and content distribution and monetisation.
  • Experience in managing, supervising, and mentoring junior lawyers/team members.
