Commercial Leader, Supply Chain Excellence

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Commercial Leader to join our Supply Chain Excellence team. Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, Capital, Ops & Automation, you will be responsible for maximising value while managing third-party risk. You will develop and execute capital goods & services plans to deliver sustainable, innovative outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with contract managers to maintain Coles' Third-Party Risk Management processes and ensuring ethical engagement with suppliers
- Representing Coles as a commercial partner for engagements across Supermarkets, Liquor, and Coles Local
- Leveraging your commercial expertise to negotiate with supplier counterparts, realising benefits & mitigations, including key commercial items and contract formalisation
- Developing and executing key sourcing initiatives/projects to conclusion while maintaining alignment with key business customers and stakeholders
- Supporting the Senior Category Manager with market research, commodity tracking, strategy development, and sensitivity analysis to support ongoing contract and category management
To succeed in this role, you will need to achieve or exceed annual efficiency targets set against category plans. This will require well-developed commercial experience, demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and maintain category strategy and vision across various categories.
You will also possess:
- A related tertiary qualification, ideally in Commerce, Legal, or Procurement
- Strong experience in procurement or commercial management
- Demonstrated expertise in sourcing, project management, data analysis, and negotiations
- Influence stakeholders with persuasive recommendations and arguments, underpinned by strong oral and written communication skills
- Interpretation and application of relevant legislation and regulations related to purchasing and supplying goods and services
- Experience in contract dispute resolution
Coles offers a comprehensive remuneration package, including an estimated salary range of AU$120,000 - AU$160,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. We also provide hybrid working options to support work-life balance. Other benefits include:
