About This Opportunity

Fixed-Term Position

The Chief Operating Officer's Office is seeking a visionary leader to join our regional leadership group at CQUniversity in Rockhampton, Queensland.

This fixed-term role until 30 June 2029 requires full-time hours and will involve guiding a dedicated team and championing the voices of local communities across the Rockhampton Regional and Livingstone Shire Councils.

You will have the opportunity to influence regional and national conversations and support communities in designing and delivering meaningful place-based solutions.

We are looking for a bold, strategic thinker who can lead with purpose and create lasting impact alongside the community. The ideal candidate will possess strong facilitation and presentation skills, a collective impact mindset, and advanced strategy and planning abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dedicated team and regional leadership group
  • Champion the voices of local communities
  • Influence regional and national conversations
  • Support communities to design and deliver meaningful place-based solutions

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Completion of a degree or qualification in Management, or similar
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • A collective impact mindset and ability to inspire confidence, passion, and accountability in internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced strategy and planning skills
