Industrial Sector Researcher

We are seeking an Industrial Sector Researcher to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a detailed knowledge of Australian Industrial companies, building and updating company models and statistics databases, writing reports on individual companies and market sectors, and collaborating with domestic, regional, and global colleagues on research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Australian Industrial sector, including its key players and trends;
  • Develop and maintain financial models and statistics databases for key companies in the sector;
  • Write insightful reports on individual companies and market trends;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver high-quality research products;
  • Build relationships with industry stakeholders, including institutional clients, investor relations teams, and company management;
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field;
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in banking, sell-side equity research, buy-side, or utilities/industrial-related fields;
  • Excellent financial modeling skills and a solid grounding in financial/accounting fundamentals;
  • Ability to interpret and analyze company financial statements, announcements, and industry news;
  • Meticulous attention to detail and self-motivation to deliver results;
  • Highly motivated, proactive, curious, and enthusiastic about equity research;
  • Demonstrated ability to think logically and creatively, generate ideas, and exercise good judgment.
