This is an exciting opportunity to join our Adelaide team in a full-time, permanent role as Senior Claims Manager. You will report directly to the Claims Team Manager and have true work-life balance.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Managing member claims and investigations to support our members;
  • Providing guidance, advice, and support in the indemnification of claims;
  • Formulating a claims management strategy for the member to achieve the best possible outcome;
  • Partnering with Solicitors in the support of our members' claims as required;
  • Contributing to Avant's provision of claims services including special projects, writing articles, and presentations; and
  • Participating in the resourcing of the medico-legal advice hotline.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law or health;
  • A valid practising certificate as a Solicitor;
  • Previous experience in insurance claims management;
  • A strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation;
  • Strong time management and work management skills;
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
  • Proven ability to work in an electronic document management system; and
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
