The position of Associate to the Hon Justice Vaughan at the Supreme Court of Western Australia, Court of Appeal, offers a unique opportunity for a high-achieving individual to work closely with a respected jurist and contribute to the administration of justice.
To be successful in this role, applicants should possess the following attributes:
- A law degree or nearly completed law degree;
- A high level of academic achievement (Honours or equivalent is desirable but not essential);
- High-level research and analytical skills;
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
- Editorial and proofreading skills.
As an Associate to the Hon Justice Vaughan, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in legal research and writing, while also gaining valuable experience in the administration of justice. The successful applicant will be required to undertake legal research and produce written work, as well as carry out administrative functions in preparation for Court sittings and attend in Court as a Judicial Support Officer.
This role may fulfill the work experience component of Practical Legal Training courses approved by the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia. Applicants who have already been admitted to practice as a lawyer and would welcome the experience of working as an Associate are also encouraged to apply.
