Job Description

We are seeking a sales assistant to join our retail team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the store manager with day-to-day operations and providing an inspiring in-store experience for customers and community members.

  • Provide an inspiring in-store experience for customers and community members

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

As a sales assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices
  • Collecting, sorting, and pricing donations, including furniture across all departments
  • Assisting in visual merchandising and store presentation
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Displaying stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure
  • Following Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures
  • Demonstrating TSA core values in all work-related activities

You will also be responsible for assisting with visual merchandising and store presentation, as well as maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous experience in retail sales is not essential, but we require your passion and proven ability to deliver outstanding results in a complex retail environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid technical skills
  • A high level of integrity and a commitment to upholding The Salvation Army's Mission and Values
