Job Position: Principal Consultant

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of our Two-way Science Initiative.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting schools in building positive relationships with parents, carers and local Aboriginal communities. They will work closely with school curriculum teams, community groups and Ranger Groups to develop culturally responsive teaching and learning programs.

A key aspect of this role is identifying and addressing challenges in the initiative's delivery. The candidate must be able to provide expert advice and guidance while overseeing risk management to ensure safe and effective implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and coordinating activities to support schools in delivering place-based culturally responsive teaching and learning programs.
  • Building strong relationships with Aboriginal school communities and other key stakeholders to promote effective collaboration and partnerships.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to support the delivery of the Two-way Science program and address any challenges that may arise.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Kimberley Aboriginal communities and their cultural practices.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Aboriginal school communities and other key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to provide expert advice and guidance to support the delivery of complex initiatives.
  • Strong risk management skills to ensure safe and effective implementation.

Location: This position is based in the Kimberley Education Regional Office in Broome (6725).
