Electrical Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to lead the development and implementation of safe, compliant, and efficient electrical systems across our material recovery facilities. This hands-on role supports technical reliability, fault diagnostics, and capital project delivery, working closely with site operations, engineering, and strategic teams.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a clear strategy for electrical engineering standards in processing plants, underpinning electrical safety standards and assisting to deliver operational reliability and efficiency.
  • Identify and deliver capital investments relating to electrical projects, coordinating with site and projects teams.
  • Support and guide the Strategic Development team to ensure high electrical standards are maintained and aligned to group electrical standards.
  • Responsible for overseeing, management, and standardisation of relevant Australian Electrical safety standards at all sites.
  • Define and implement a strategy for planned, preventative, and routine maintenance for all operating sites, establishing both mandatory regulatory inspections and best practice preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Support the delivery of capex plans and coordinate electrical aspects of their delivery for all operating units.
  • Conduct high-level fault finding and analytics on major breakdowns, providing technical support and direction in the event of electrical issues.
  • Optimise electrical expenditure by advising on local R&M expenditure, ensuring contractors deliver value for money and are aligned to group equipment and technical standards.
  • Requirements:
  • Degree or similar tertiary equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in electrical roles (>10 years) in manufacturing industries is required, ideally recycling operations. Operational experience in continuous process industries where maximising plant availability is key.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams across multiple sites.
  • Track record of delivering capability/process improvement and setting electrical standards for an organisation.
  • Strong analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Driven to implement compliant electrical standards and high levels of safe working practices.
